Art - sketching and painting outdoors

Course description:
This six week course is suitable for all abilities - including beginners, improvers and advanced - who are interested in gaining an experience of working outdoors, from the landscape, in a variety of different habitats and venues.
The emphasis will be on using sketchbooks to facilitate the development of compositional skills and drawing and painting techniques.
Participants will be encouraged to make tonal drawings in both pencil and colour, to make notes and to explore using different media to make colour sketches in their chosen medium, and as a basis for paintings in the studio at a later date.
Over the six weeks the following themes will be included:
Local countryside landscapes (mountains and lochs)
Woodland and forests
Townscapes
Highland Folk - yesteryear
Highland wildlife
People and life drawing
This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in developing their skills of drawing outside, progressing to further education classes at college and university.
Qualifications:
Company or Course Certificate / Diploma
: A Learning Centre Certificate of Completion will be awarded to all participants.
