Course description:
ServeWise & City & Guilds Certificate for Scottish Personal Licence Holders meets the requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and focuses on issues surrounding the management and legal responsibilities facing on-licence premises.
This one day course covers 3 key areas:
LICENSING LAW: Including licensing objectives, licensing officials, types of licences, operating plans, licensed hours, mandatory conditions, common offences and offences relating to children. As well as other key legislation, including Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Advertising, Weights and Measures and Security.
ALCOHOL: Effects of alcohol on people, their behaviour and the consequences.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Building on experience this covers refusals of service, best practice, customer services and responsible retailing.

: Successful candidates will receive a certificate accepted by Licensing Boards throughout Scotland.
Entry requirements:
No formal entry requirements, however the course is most suited to licensees, managers, supervisors or experienced staff who will become personal licence holders for on-licence premises i.e. pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotels etc.
