Put your tourism business on the map

Anyone interested in starting their own business in the tourism sector should beat a path to Aberdeen College’s door.

The Setting up a Tourism Business course delivered by Aberdeen College allows students to find out how to successfully manage an enterprise in the tourism industry and which factors can make an impact on their bottom line.

Learners will find out how to run a guest house efficiently and to a high standard at a time when the ‘staycation’ trend for holidays at home continues to gain popularity.

Those who undertake the course will learn how to run their businesses competitively, how to write a proper business plan and how to construct proposals to help them attract funding.

For those new to the industry, there will also be a chance to learn more about starting out from the very beginning, ensuring learners are prepared for anything that the tourism industry may throw at them.

Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded an Accredited Syndicate of Education & Training (ASET) certificate in Setting up a Tourism Business, which allows them to gain recognition for skills required to manage a guest house.

This £180 flexible learning course allows students to study in their own time and will run until July 1 2010.
