Learning Uncovered for the voluntary sector
ILA Scotland has completed its second series of Learning Uncovered events in partnership with learndirect scotland, learndirect scotland for business and with support from the CVS network. In total nine Learning Uncovered events have now been successfully delivered throughout Scotland.
Learning Uncovered was offered as a half day seminar which provided a wide range of organisations information on where they could obtain, advice and funding for learning to help their staff, service users and their volunteers. ILA Scotland hope to run similar seminars early next year, if you would like to attend or would like to explore running one of these events in partnership please contact the ILA Scotland partnership team.
For those organisations who have already attended a seminar presentations are now available to be downloaded in the partner guidance page.

Tell us about it...
One of the most successful ways of promoting ILA Scotland and its partners is through public relations. Effective use of the media can benefit learners and the organisations which support them.
Coverage in broadcast and print media, as well as online, leads to greater awareness of ILA Scotland and our partner organisations.
Some partners may already have excellent links with their local and regional media while others might want to initiate or develop relationships.
If you have a story that you want us to tell, let us know. It’s easy – just e-mail the ILA Scotland communications officer Audrey Simpson, giving some basic details, including who, what, where and when. The e-mail address is press@ilascotland.org.uk and Audrey can also be contacted on 0141 285 6177.
The news item can be about a learner, a special event or your organisation’s future plans. It could be featured in a press release to the media in your area as well as on the ILA Scotland website.

New resources to help you promote ILA Scotland
Following feedback from a range of partner organisations, ILA Scotland has developed additional resources to assist you in promoting this initiative to the learners you with work with.
Marketing materials
As part of our marketing materials we now have ILA Scotland shell posters for you to use. These have been designed with a space for you to include your own organisation's contact details to encourage learners to speak to you first about ILA Scotland. Shell posters will be particularly useful if you work with individuals who may be unsure about learning as you will have the opportunity to provide them with additional information and guidance.
In addition to posters we have a range of marketing materials which you can use to raise awareness of ILA Scotland. To help you decide which materials are best suited to your organisation you can now order a marketing starter pack which contains a small selection of ILA Scotland materials.
By ordering this pack you will have the opportunity to see all the materials that are available and begin to use these within your organisation. For ease of receiving further materials a re-order card will also be included.
To order shell posters or a marketing pack contact us by phone, fax or email.
ILA Scotland partner presentation
Since ILA Scotland launched in December 2004 we have been inundated with requests from partner organisations to attend events and speak to staff about ILA Scotland. As we are not able to attend all the invites which we receive and in response to requests from organisations, we have produced a standard presentation resource for you to use.
This Powerpoint presentation is available to download now and will assist you with the cascade of ILA Scotland information to other staff. The resource contains all the basic information you need to know about ILA Scotland and comes with notes to assist you in delivering this presentation.
However if you think your organisation would benefit from a more detailed presentation please contact us and we can arrange to come out and speak to you and your colleagues.
