ILA Scotland

What is ILA Scotland?

ILA Scotland is central to the Scottish Government’s Lifelong Learning strategy of increasing skills and improving the employability of the Scottish workforce.  A primary aim of ILA Scotland is to increase participation in adult learning by removing one of the key barriers to learning which is funding.

In addition, at the very heart of ILA Scotland is the commitment to provide learners with a high quality learning experience and develop a network of quality learning providers.

A learner account with ILA Scotland is available to people aged 16 or over, with an income of £22,000 a year or less, or who are on benefits.

ILA Scotland accounts are for people who are interested in learning something new or brushing up their skills.  There is a wide range of courses available and learners can have a look at our Course Search to get an idea of what’s available in their area.

Remember, the money is not a loan – so it does not need to be paid back.

ILA Scotland – it pays to learn.
