ILA Scotland

18.0 Secure Web Services

18.1 Is there a process to ensure that courses can’t be booked where there are no funds left?

Yes – funds are reserved when the booking is made on the ILA Scotland system by the learning provider and only the balance is available for any subsequent bookings.  When you book a course on the ILA Scotland system it will tell you how much ILA Scotland will contribute to the cost of the course.  This is why it is important to ensure that funds are reserved on the ILA Scotland system as soon as possible after discussing this with the learner.

18.2 How will the user IDs and passwords be sent to learning providers?

User IDs will be posted out to the nominated web administrator.  The web administrator will be responsible for creating their own password.

18.3 Is there an installation disc for the secure web services?

No – this is a web based service.  No installation is required.  Once you have your user ID and have successfully created your own account, you will be able to access everything.

18.4 Can we have more than one user for the secure web services?

Yes – your web administrator will be able to set up sub-users on the system.

18.5 Do you have to do each course booking / input each learner token one at a time or can you batch them?

Bookings are entered on the system using the course/opportunity.  That way, you can make bookings for a number of individuals on one course/opportunity at one time.  The same search criteria can be used for entering Learning Tokens.

18.6 When selecting an opportunity, it looks as if this can only be selected by date.  Is it possible to select by other criteria, for example venue?

Not at the moment but if feedback is given that this would be useful then we will consider building this into the system.

18.7 Is there a field for the provider to input an internal payment reference (this was one of the difficulties of the last scheme).

No, however we can look at the impact of adding this.
